Boracite

BoraciteHere we have a good quality Boracite specimen from find the 2009 find in Bolivia. While these specimens are not a new find per se, they are newly mined specimens from this well known locality. Most people are familiar with the "blue" Danburites (included by Magnesioriebeckite) from this locality, but the other staple species found here is Boracite. This piece features a rare, very sharp, well formed, translucent, powder blue color cuboctahedral

It may be more of a Quartz specimen than a Cassiterite specimen

A beautiful crystallized “mound” of off-white color

This piece has some of the largest individual crystals of Wavellite that I have seen from Bolivia

A slight brown color can be seen when the piece was backlit

It’s not common to find two different twinning habits of Cassiterite on the same specimen from Viloco

which is rather rare in my experience with the material

Apatite is rather rare in my experience from the Sweet Home

bicolor (green and colorless) Apatite crystals (some are doubly terminated) measuring up to 6 mm sitting on Quartz and sulfide matrix

This is one of the very few specimens of Franckeite that I have seen from the famous Siglo XX mine
