The client initially approached BrainX to validate whether an AI tutor could deliver a natural, classroom-like GCSE Maths lesson through real-time conversation. The resulting proof of concept was designed as a direct-launch, investor-ready experience featuring a single 20–25-minute lesson, speech-to-text interaction, natural voice responses, synchronized slides and whiteboard content, live transcripts, and a lifelike digital tutor.
After validating the conversational experience, the next challenge was to transform the standalone lesson demonstration into a complete, school-ready MVP. Schools needed a practical way to support students with different knowledge gaps, learning speeds, and confidence levels without increasing teachers’ lesson-planning and progress-tracking workload. The platform also required structured curriculum delivery, educator oversight, multi-school administration, performance reporting, and commercial subscription management.

BrainX partnered with the client to validate the technical and experiential requirements of a human-like AI tutor during the PoC phase. The team explored avatar realism, lip synchronization, response latency, conversational pacing, natural speech behavior, and the synchronization of tutor explanations with lesson slides and whiteboard content.
Building on these findings, we expanded the single-lesson concept into a modular MVP designed around five user roles: Super Admin, School Admin, Teacher, Student, and Finance Admin. We mapped complete user journeys, separated academic and billing access through role-based permissions, and developed a structured pipeline that transforms school PowerPoint material into reviewed AI-led lessons. The learning experience was designed to assess baseline knowledge, select the appropriate lesson depth, monitor student responses, adapt support when needed, and provide actionable insights to educators.
BrainX team delivered an end-to-end AI tutoring ecosystem that helps schools provide individualized GCSE maths support while keeping educators in control. Key features include:

MathaMentor evolved from an experimental AI lesson into a structured platform ready for real-school pilots and commercial rollout.
